The Sun’s transit through Leo this August breaks up the Cardinal siege which was reactivated in late June and July by the Sun’s movement through the sign of Cancer.  June and July spot lit some incredibly difficult terrain and may have highlighted some strong issues and flaws, which need addressing over time, both internally and externally.

With the Sun moving into Leo, the motivation to fix or improve these situations, is stronger and less daunting as we see more opportunities for solution and the increasing assistance on offer, thanks to other planetary supports. The Sun’s entry into Leo on July 22nd/23rd saw clarity and strength come knocking at the door, opening new reserves of energy and inspiration, thanks to the break-up of the planetary tensions currently held on the Cardinal axis (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn).

The Leo Sun is supported by Mars in Aries, both planets in signs of their rulership, both active planets that LOVE to move and motivate. Mars in Aries shares the same fire and yang energy as the Sun in Leo and in August they connect to each other in a supportive trine aspect.  This fire energy brings motivation, vitality and break throughs. This is the beauty of August astrologically speaking, we finally get some movement and traction.  August has a lot of yang fire energy which allows us to put our emotions aside and offers strength as well as the resolve needed as we move forwards with 2020’s challenges.

In light of all the heat and friction created by the Sun and Mars contacts all month, we also have Venus entering Cancer in the first week of August. Venus finally completes her 3-month retrograde cycle in Gemini as she shifts into Cancer giving a cooling affect to help temper all the previously mentioned fire activity. Venus will be appreciative of this entry into Cancer, an element (Water) that she enjoys, after 3 months of integration, reform, change and evolution of Gemini themes, stories and activities (communications, networks, social activities, sociability, online presences etc).  Venus moves to create a more healing and nurturing influence as she moves over some very tender Cancer territory as well as giving temperance to the extreme heat created by Sun and Mars, helping counter the potentials for burn out.

Mercury will enter Virgo, also a sign of its rulership from the 20th of August, which creates great opportunity for Mercury to do what it does, well! i.e.: write, reading, create, plan, trade, network, analysis and processing. Mercury is our intellect and our acumen, meaning late August will be excellent for Mercury type activities and initiations.

Overall August is a great month, we have 3 planets in their Rulership (The Sun, Mars and Mercury), which means they get to operate in the way they know and act best.  Things may still be very challenging, personally and globally, however August does offer some of the best Astrology for 2020, creating space to recharge and tap into The Sun (vitality, visibility and HEALTHY ego centring) Mars (energy, charge, motivation, impulse, physicality and doing) and Mercury (intellect, analyse, communications, reading, writing and business affairs). Deep in darkness, restriction and burdens weigh heavy. Hours after the New Moon in Cancer, its effects are heightened with the Sun’s opposition to Saturn. The Sun’s light revealing the cracks, as it pours light from an opposing angle, allowing a new view of what has been bound together and constructed.

This occurring deep in the darkness of the ‘new’ moon, IS hard. Waiting for the moons first crescent of light to hatch, is uncomfortable. When this light is shed La Luna is finally able to help, lessen the intensity of feeling and emotion. Until then, this is where we will be.

The cracks and stress fractures are currently well-lit and obvious. The Sun opposite Saturn makes any weakness apparent, any regrets glaringly obvious. We will be sitting with this, waiting and wandering, lamenting as we gather ourselves for the Sun to progress into Leo on July 23rd.

When the Sun enters Leo, we are welcomed with its warmth and more inspired to play in its light.  It is at this time that the first of the moon’s new light begins to shine down upon us. Mars in Aries 2020 : A Marathon of Bravery and Fortitude

28th June 2020,  Mars moves into Aries, a sign that it rules; for just over 6 months, rather than the usual 8 weeks. That’s an extra 16 weeks of Mars, an active, hot-headed, volatile, aggressive, and sword welding planet, in a sign that it’s super charged in, fun times.

Mars’s elongated transit of Aries is due to his retrograde in September to November 2020. The Mars Retrograde is the trickiest, out of all the planetary retrograde phases. Retrograde Mars is volatile and unpredictable, more so than any of the other planets.  The other planets have a more predictable and regular retrograde cycle, not so in Mars’ case. Mars when Retrograde is notorious for its tendency towards extremes and a willingness to engage in hostilities. In most cases it tends to backfire, due to Mars when retrograde, acting in an extremely erratic nature being unpredictable, mis-directed and mis-guided. Aggressive or hostile acts during this time, generally tend to be the undoing of a person or situation.  When active and fast-moving planets, like Mars; are forced to slowdown and move in motions and speeds they don’t like or are not used to, they create problems and manifest in unpredictable or unique ways or manners. Mars Retrograde if worked correctly, can give an opportunity to redefine, the rules of engagement, but to what purpose, is important, and it’s still very risky business, especially since it’s so strong in Aries.

The last time Mars was retrograde in Aries was September to November 1941, which was during WWII. During this 1941 Mars Retrograde Period, the decree that all Jewish people in Germany were to wear the Gold Star of David on their clothing and to not have contact with Non-Jewish People was signed and in-acted. The Polish Concentration camp Majdanek opened.  The Siege of Leningrad began, which lasted 900 days, with the aggressor eventually defeated. In India, Mahatma Ghandi, urged his followers to begin a passive resistance against British rule in India. (a new technique of resistance, from a person who themselves, had an exceptionally strong Mars). 1941 saw no shortage of very key events, in human history occurring during this Aries retrograde. Addressing or creating extreme violence, repression and hostility, towards innocent and persecuted people, was a strong theme. As intense as these examples are, this was the last historical recording of such a retrograde in Aries.  Mars also went partially Retrograde in Aries in 1988, it was slightly tempered with its retrograde back into Pisces. 2020 is the first time we have had a full Mars Retrograde in Aries since 1941.

What makes the 2020 transit of Mars in Aries, especially volatile and hostile, is the continuous aspects, that Mars will make to Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. Jupiter is weak in Capricorn, so bringing any big vision plans or positive humanitarian focused values; struggles for any influence at this time. Jupiter’s optimism has been dimmed. Saturn and Pluto are coming back online, with Saturn moving back into Capricorn in the first week of July, re-activates the Saturn Pluto vibe and events of its exact conjunction in early January 2020.  We saw what a strong Mars can do, when it crossed Saturn and Pluto in February – March 2020, in Capricorn.  Things quickly began to spiral out of control at this time. Now were moving into a time where Mars will again be in a strong position to continually activating this, from July – January 2021, rather than merging with this energy, it will be activating it from a more aggressive square angle.

If you have Mars retrograde IN your birth-chart, this is your time to shine. People who have it in their natal chart, tend to get activated and achieve a lot of positive things, during the retrograde time period. This is due to their natal placement being unlocked and ignited. They finally get to harness the energy they have nataly, that is usually hidden, repressed or locked away. Mars retrograde nativities tend to avoid conflict, but when the sky mirrors their natal placement, they finally get to express their strength and might. It’s almost like they build towards each retrograde cycle, to accomplish the next phases.

Things to keep in mind during this upcoming Mars in Aries Period.  Watch the burning of the midnight oil and running yourself down. Overextending yourself at this time is a real possibility. This will be a marathon, not a sprint. Making up for any lost time or ground from early 2020, will be ill advised in this next 6 months, things are very much still influx for the rest of 2020.  Curve balls will come, so be ready.

Mars is energetic, active and loves to assert this strength via brute force. Saturn, which Mars meets and is also strong in its rulership of Capricorn. Saturn likes to keep a routine, make long term plans and working towards them. Mars is spontaneous energy and exertion, Saturn is calculated, cautious and conservative with its energies. Saturn also likes fiscal responsibility and doing the admin. Mars, is too busy making things happen, bulldozing large areas and thinks about the consequences after.  This will be the constant push and pull over the next 6 months. Making sure you keep these two squaring energies in check is very really important for the next 6 months. Saturn’s influence during this time, does however have the upper hand.

Over extending or gambling on an offer or bet, will most likely see you come off second best. Do expect some out of the blue surprises, or any hostilities that do pop up, register and keep a track of it. There could be something more to it. Don’t shy away from or ignore gut instincts. We are getting into some pretty gnarly terrain and staying on guard, without being overly defensive or hostile is extremely helpful. Managing how you exert and replenish your energy is vital. The next 6 months is some of the trickiest terrain we have had to navigate in decades. Keeping all this in mind as we enter the next 6 months will be really helpful as we enter the next phase of 2020.

MARS THORUGH THE SIGNS

ARIES / ARIES RISING

Having your ruler activate your house of vitality, being seen and how you present, might be a double-edged sword. Being aware of not burning out and watching your health and energy will be of great assistance over the next 6 months. Be conscious of how you do and say things, making sure you aren’t seen or interpreted, in an overly aggressive or hostile way, especially when things get a bit heated or stressful. Mars being so visible, may put any anger or frustrations on show, in ways you may not be aware of. Monitor it. How you manage your health and conduct yourself, is of great importance over the next 6 months, as the triggers and frustrations will be there. Don’t take the bait. Conservative approaches, will have the upper hand.

TAURUS / TAURUS RISING

Mars spending so much time in your subconscious, and private realms may see under the surface agitation. Sleep disruptions, maybe a thing, as well as an increase in frustrations, of things you thought you have forgotten about or want to avoid dealing with. Knowing that your subconscious will be activated and churred up over such a long-time frame will be helpful, as you learn to untangle the fuse. You may feel irritable and frustrated, that things or angers you tried to supress, pop back up. But using the determination and energy of a hot Mars to cut through the tangled cords, will be of great assistance. Mars has a severing effect and getting rid of old cords and things that hold you back, might be greatly assisted at this time, but it will unfold over a longer than wanted time frame.

GEMINI / GEMINI RISING

Mars will give a blast of enthusiasm and great momentum to groups, communities and shared activities. Having so much energy in a such a social area of your chart, means this area will be extremely active and energized. You will have lots of reserves to pull from, but it’s easy to burn through it all when your running on adrenaline. Watch you don’t over commitment or bite off more than you can chew. Keep an eye out for hostilities or aggressive behaviour from community and groups. Don’t get dragged into them, as they will pop up. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Longer time frames will allow for more success overall, there might be a strong drive to do it all at once. Tempering and thought out action is a lot more productive long term, than running yourself into the ground, because you found a new well of energy to tap into.  Boundaries will be important when dealing with community, groups or networking activities.

CANCER / CANCER RISING

Having Mars make its home in your Career, Ambitions and Reputation sector, will make for a hot and active 6 months. Mars in Aries has its advantages but making sure you wield his energy at appropriate times is the key here. Being engaging, active, energetic and enthusiastic around Career and Reputation is important. You are worth it, and you are an asset for any team. But being cool, cautious and calculated (Saturn like) will help balance all this Mars energy, which can be exhausting in itself. Solid friends and one on one relationships will help anchor you as you traverse the next 6 months. Mars will be hot and fiery, stoking passions and maybe resentments. Be mindful of the rays you hurl around any career or reputations that relate to your career. Mars in the 10thcan be difficult but keeping the right checks and balances as well as keeping a positive active role in what battles you want to forge on the Career front are important. Just make sure you aren’t dragged into the wrong battles or the wrong side of opinions. Use Mars to help drive your ambition, without taking anyone else down or out, in pursuit of your ambitions.

LEO / LEO RISING

Mars will spend 6 months burning though your beliefs and Philosophy sector of your chart. Now you have a real chance to get rid of any self-limiting beliefs of things you didn’t think you could do. Mars is set to challenge, your belief systems, allowing them to be re-formed or moulded into a way that allows you to become more aligned with such an abundance of Mars energy. There may be challenges or glitches along the way but proving your own strength and abilities to yourself is one manifestation of this energy. Also powering through any research, study, education, books or publishing would be a positive use of Mars in Aries for so long. Just make sure that you don’t become the hostile one and being overly aggressive in challenging such beliefs in others. Not really the most positive use of this energy, but a possible manifestation.

VIRGO / VIRGO RISING

Mars will be spending 6 months in your area of shared resources and external money sources. Everything needs to be done by the book, with the potential for the odd miscellaneous expense to pop up. Managing outgoings and keeping on top of the admin is of great importance right now. Mars might feel like you are wanting to push forwards with external financial investments. Do your homework, don’t rush in. There are many other unseen variables at work. Mars might make you feel a sense of urgency and momentum around debt and resource. Keeping a conservative view, doing the groundwork as well as not hedging bets on gambles or high-risk ventures right now are good things, to keep in the forefront of your mind for the rest of 2020.

LIBRA / LIBRA RISING

It will be challenging having Mars activating your one on one relationships for 6 months, but don’t let the agitation break your cool. Mars is quick, swift, fastmoving and energetic. You may find yourself surrounded by these kinds of people for the next 6 months. Do beware, low vibe Mars people may also crop up. Hostile, Angry, and Short Tempered, manage your relationship to these people accordingly and make sure you check yourself in these roles as the rest of the year progresses. Keeping a cool head and a good check on your one on one relations keeps you in good stead. Expect challenges, but be the cool detached one in the relationship, no matter how difficult it might be at the time.

SCORPIO / SCORPIO RISING

Having Mars sitting in the house of its joy, as well as being your ruler means you probably have some of the best pickings from this challenging 6 months. Mars rev’s up your day to day & health routines. A great time to smash through the to do list, as well as get physically active and work that body. Just be very mindful of burn out or going to hard. We are in quite an active time, so you might not need to do as much as you initially expect to get good results. Looking after yourself health-wise is essential, and don’t make the to list, do big, to be successful over the next 6 months. It’s all about bite size portions, and not over committing, though over estimation of energy sources.

SAGITTARIUS / SAGITTARIUS RISING

Mars gives good momentum for you over the next 6 months, to pursue and engage with things that bring great joy or creative outlets to you. Making sure the fast momentum and energizing doesn’t get overtaken by frustration or burn out by over committing to such projects. Deadlines and timeframes may need to be longer than usual. There is a lot going on, so make sure you don’t bite off more than you can chew. Just because you love doing it, doesn’t mean you should forget about other commitments over this time frame. Balancing what you love doing and find creatively rewarding, along with the daily grind is key to keeping in balance for the next 6 months. It will do wonders for you overall.

CAPRICORN / CAPRICORN RISING

Mars spending so long in your home and family sector, will be something that needs to be managed and monitored. Mars going through the base of your chart, which also includes your ancestors stirs and agitates the depths. With Saturn in Capricorn in your 1st house, trying to establish boundaries and authority around “Who you are” and “What your identify as/with” vs Mars in your home sector, agitating and stirring up the waters of where you come from and how these things sit together, will be a tricky balancing act. The retrograde, may have you feeling like you’re challenged or moving backwards. Make sure you check your aggression and hostility towards family as you work through all this will be important. Mars in Aries is a pretty big trigger, and with it spending so long in such a sensitive and personal place in your chart, will need management. Making good with it, and using its power wisely is of the upmost importance right now.

AQUARIUS / AQUARIUS RISING

Having a strong Mars, in your local neighbourhood and resource sector, will see hot flashes or little micro aggressions pop up in your local neighbourhood, as you go about your routines. Mars also activates your relationships with siblings. Beware of these flashpoints. Not all aggressions, frustration or challenges need to be brought into. There is a lot going on for the rest of 2020, working out if what pops up in these areas is really worth putting your energy into will be part of the process. Upshot? Getting out and engaging and being active in your local community through sports  or exercising in your neighbourhood, is a positive use, of all this physically strong and mobile energy. It may help take the stress off as we make our way through 2020. Be extra cautious when driving over the next 6 months, anything with strong fire power in your day to day neighbourhood should be treated with care, as its all on high rev for 6 months.

PISCES / PISCES RISING

Mars spending 6 months in your Money house, will be challenging. Watching how you spend, manage, invest or earn your money will be where Mars edges his sword from now to January 2021. Mars in your money house, may see more out goings as things you don’t expect pop up, with those annoying one off’s. Expect some unexpected expenditure, keep this in mind so you can monitor the essential and non-essential spending, before these things pop up. However, leaning into a strong Saturn in Capricorn, will be of great assistance. Use your networks or community to help establish strong structures around Money, and how you earn it. Mars maybe pushing you to get out there and earn it. Using your solid network of friends and connections, is how you end up doing it.

Solstice Eclipse June 2020 : Hidden in Plain Sight

Today’s Winter Solstice,  coincides with a Solar (New) Moon Eclipse. The Last time this occurred on the June Solstice was in 2001, that turned out the be quite a defining year for Geopolitics, it would be accurate to say, unseen powers were at work at the 2001 June Eclipse.

To answer the question of, is this a common occurrence ?  This coincidence of a Solar eclipse on the same day as the June solstice will only happen once again this century: on June 21, 2039.

Today, it could be said is the middle point of this unfolding story. Like in 2001, this years configuration of Saturn and Pluto, created difficult and unsettling terrain to navigate, for the rest of 2020, creating a new 38 year era of changing power structures. 2001 was a half way point. Pluto and Saturn were opposed in 2001, they conjoined in January 2020), kicking off 2020 and a new decade. 2020 is a year of continual and potent change geopolitically, this Eclipse is part of the story, of which only time will reveal. Eclipses operate and highlight, blind spots or hidden activities, which later get revealed.

Today’s eclipse  being another beat in the story arc.  Remembering Eclipse energy doesn’t tend to reveal itself for at least 2 weeks, taking up to 6 months to manifest, stay tuned, and stay alert and stay connected … 🤔2020 isn’t going to go back to “normal” anytime soon ..

The Gemini New Moon occurs 23 May (AEST) at 2 degrees of Gemini. The New Moon or Dark Moon ( if you observe the New Moon from its first crescent of light) is where the Sun and Moon meet. The Sun and Moon align, and the Moon is unable to reflect the Sun’s light, creating darkness, a resting phase, a silent pause and space to let go and release. Restoring it’s strength for the beginning of a new Lunar Cycle.
Mercury rules the New Moon and is strong as it’s currently in its ruling sign of Gemini. Mercury, also encounters a Retrograde Venus, conjoining it at the time of this New Moon, creating an emphasis on Mercury and Venus themes for this new lunar cycle; including: What are your Values ? ( Are the Values you hold close really being communicated especially in Relationship or Friendship ?). 9 November 2018 – 3 December 2019 – Jupiter in Sagittarius.

On the 9th of November 2018, Jupiter King of the Gods returns to his home sign of Sagittarius (The Archer), for the first time in 12 years. Jupiter cycles are yearly cycles with a reputation of creating lucky opportunities in the areas of life, that this planet transits in your birth chart.

Jupiter returning home to Sagittarius in 2018, will be the break in the astrological weather we have been working so hard to reach, after universally speaking,  a very trying year. Think back to 12 years ago, or 24 years ago to see what happened then, for hints of what could pop up this time around  (2006 / 2007 or 1995 / 1996). This is a cycle of optimism and expansion, but even more so, when Jupiter returns home to the sign of its rulership.  Jupiter in Sagittarius ! What can go wrong?  I mean we are talking the king of the gods here.

So what changes ? Buoyancy, Optimism, Faith, Movement, Travel, Luck, Creativity, Passion and a Willingness to Learn and Understand;  suddenly gets bolstered in the Astrological frame-work. 2018’s Yin year has been a VERY internal and different year in comparison to the 2 previous Yang (expansion) years.

2018 has seen a plethora of challenging retrograde’s.  Mercury Retrograding in Fire signs who are proficient in accelerating mis-understandings has also creating some pretty fiery reactions / communications in return. Mars was given a bolster by its transit in Capricorn the sign that its strongest in aside from its ruler – Aries.  Mars then retrograded in Aquarius, for the first time since 1970, before turning direct on the exact point of its strength 28 degrees of Capricorn. Literally the worst possible time for the Liberals to axe Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull (results from that are due in 2019). Mars Retrograde, left most of the rest of us floundering, all this work for no progress or movement forward, or strange left field obstacles coming from nowhere to challenge or block your energy and power.  Once Mars went direct – Venus decided to go Retrograde in Scorpio, which is basically all about digging through all the sludge and diving deep into the sewers to unblock the blockages, blockages we  really didn’t want to venture down into. Jupiter, our dear friend Jupiter is also in Scorpio amplifying this Venus retrograde by being in Scorpio. And yes here we are…

Jupiter moving in to Sagittarius will be the 3rd planet to be in its sign it Rules, This makes for some powerful and potentially corrective Astrology. Neptune is in Pisces for the first time in 164 years is half way through its transit.  Saturn in Capricorn for the first time in 28 years, is in its first quarter of its transit,  Now Jupiter is entering Sagittarius for the first time in 12 years, to lift the spirits with a healthy dose of positivity and buoyancy. These are all external / macro / social or societal planets, they are heavy hitters. They take YEARS to move around the birth-chart. They offer big shifts in psychic, situation and circumstances. These planets can alter paths by creating opportunities for change. Pluto the head transformer, is not in its rulership in Capricorn but it is pretty much near exultation in Capricorn, so can be also linked by association. Pluto in Capricorn & Jupiter in Scorpio have been very good transits to help expose the poison.

So what happens when Jupiter hits Sagittarius ? Optimism, Speculation, Faith, Fun, Exuberance, Passion and Enthusiasm, Exapansion. All great key words here, but the key to being successful in a time of Jupiter in Sagittarius, is to be MEASURED. Sometimes this transit can lead to blind optimism, blind faith or an over exertion of enthusiasm ESPECIALLY after difficult or more challenging times. Jupiter loves to celebrate and party and so does the sign of Sagittarius, but the very important measure for the next year is to be MEASURED. Would your bigger decisions hold up in a time of austerity ? Money is very important to watch with Jupiter in Sagittarius, as there is a tendency to be overly jovial and over extend with it, it might come easily, but it is just as likely to go easy as well.  Waistlines another thing that are physical manifestations of a Jupiter in Sagittarius cycle, due to its tendency to lead to living life-like an Emperor, 365 day a year.

Jupiter going into Sagittarius IS  a wonderful time to expand Travel, Study, Be Social, Interact and get involved in pursuits that interest you !  Learning, Education, Traveling, Positive Mindset, Connecting with Friends and Family as well an increased level of Faith with regards to any of the above are positive manifestations of this Jupiter Cycle.  It’s a blessed year of opportunity and positive gains as long as Recklessness doesn’t come into the equation, or overly zealous dogma, as Jupiter is just as likey to expand this along with  other manifestations.

Finally its time to celebrate the gains we have made and processed in 2018 ! At the time of this shift, we will also see the Nodes of the Moon move from Leo / Aquarius into Cancer / Capricorn for 18 months. This sees a move in the eclipse cycles and moves the focus of the nodes aka destiny points. Cancer (Home, Mother, Nurture, Ancestors, Family) see the North Node (a pushing forward, a consuming of things that nourish or nurture these themes) while the South Node ( the letting go of and releasing) of theme to do with Status, Power, Position and Acclaim. This Nodal shift also sees more pressure put on this axis which already has Saturn and Pluto transforming and reconstructing Capricorn themes of Power, Status and Government.  Jupiter in Sagittarius really is a last gasp of a chance of fresh Philosphy,  fresh Passion and Creativity before it moves in Capricorn late 2019, leading us into the very potent time of 2020.

If there is a time to party and celebrate, Jupiter in Sagittarius is it. And Hey ! It’s just in time for Summer in the Southern Hemisphere ! It might feel a bit slow to begin with as Mercury goes retrograde in Sagittarius for the first 3 weeks, but come December – its time to free yourself from the lessons of 2018, and burn off some steam by becoming passionate and involving yourself in life and all its sweet offerings !  Chances are there will be a nice little surprise along the way to sweeten the ride. For People with  Sagittarius Sun, Moon or Ascendant, it’s a fresh new start as Jupiter crosses over these points of their chart.  Saturn’s 3 year transit of Dec 2014 – Dec 2017, was an astrological   hammering. The hard work, loss of faith and rebuilding from this time, will be clearly seen during this Jupiter in Sagittarius transit, as you turn a new leaf for a new 12 year cycle. Giving Sagittarian’s the one thing that is most important to them, Optimism and Joy for the great things to come.

From the 17th of March until the 16th of May; Mars our personal Spartan warrior enters Capricorn. Mars loves Capricorn (aside from its ruler Aries) and Capricorn loves the lower octave vibe Mars gives of its ruler – Saturn. Happy Days !  but beneath the surface,  is a complex  astrological  climate which has taken years to culminate. Creating the perfect environment for these soon to be written warrior stories.

In this spin of the planetary wheel, deeper activations and accelerates are afoot as  players conspire together to create a real pressure cooker of energies. This is designed to forge the metal and mould the resolve. This energetic connectivity is trying to inspire or challenge us to be the greatest version we can be, especially if you have planets in Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra, Virgo or Taurus.

Mars in Capricorn is the flame that starts in motion some of the most unavoidable yet opportune times to forge in flames things that you were too scared to bring into power. 1. Your own self power, recognition and dharma, being the higher octave of this transit. 2. Karma, consequence, hostility and aggression, if your on the wrong side of this correcting energy.

Mars will happily march its passion, fire, fury, motivation, action, swift movement and aggressive desire for dominance, through Capricorn during March to May. Whilst doing so Mars conjoins, Saturn (a high octave of this Mars energy, creating an element of resolve and or consequence) & Pluto (not technically the same as Mars and Saturn), but by temperament, the God of the Underworld has no issue with deprivation, war mongering or pressure cookers !  Its how Pluto rules its domain. So imagine, how its going to react when Mars brings its flame to ignite or highlight it. High Speed Evolution, or Deep Shadows being the 2 obvious ways it could be brought to the light, in the sign of Public Status and Profile, Career, Governance and Structures.

May 16th sees Mars move in to Aquarius (who is also traditionally ruled by Saturn). Whilst at the same time Uranus, Aquarius modern ruler, shifts into Taurus within hours of Mars’s ingress.

Uranus going into Taurus is a 7 year cyclic shift, returning to Taurus after 84 years. As Mars arrives into Aquarius (an Air sign) , there is an opportunity to have some fresh air, some processing time, and detachment from all the intense, exhaustive energy that was used during April and May.  Whatever Mars russles up over April and May will be sign posting a whole new era.   Uranus’s entry in to Taurus within 24 hours does creates a surprise element to this story. It adds more heat and pace to our Mars stories.  Uranus generally arrives into a sign with a bang ! Or an earthquake, like the Fukushima earthquake, which occurred the day Uranus entered Aries in 2011. This is a day to watch ! This Astrology is potent !!

26/27 of June once Mars gets to 9 degrees of Aquarius, Mars will begin its once every 18 month retrograde. Mars retrograde’s LEAST in Aquarius, and its the first Mars Retrograde in Aquarius since the early 1970s.

Mars Retrograde’s have a purpose ! they are opportune times to rest, integrate, assessing  how to move forward with the discoveries of April to May, giving space to do this on an intellectual level, due to Aquarius being detached air.

However, people do become more flustered, aggressive and hostile during Mars retrograde. They can’t release the active drive and energy Mars creates, which can be frustrating. It also slows down all the evolutionary leaps and bounds, or commitments to the potentials that are discovered  in April – May. Mars Retrograde will  feel 2 steps for and 3 steps back.

After a Lunar Eclipse conjunct this retrograde Mars on July 28th,  which is a story within itself, this never-ending barrage of planetary aspects to the transiting  Warrior Mars, begins to resolve its self as it stops its retrograde by turning direct at 28 degrees of Capricorn. The exact degree that Mars is most strongest in the entire zodiac.

Once Mars stations direct on its degree of its exultation, 27th of August, we finally get to move forward with all the changes and fruits that were on offer from the beginning of the Mars Cycle, when it entering Capricorn on March 17.  By October 11th Mars would have cleared its retrograde aspect of Aquarius and we are out of the retrograde cycle for another 18 Months.

There is ALLOT going on across this Mars transit of Capricorn and the Mars Retrograde.

But the key things to know are :

Watch aggression, it may be coming at you, you might be giving off that vibe, watch it – it’s a side effect of this transit. Don’t let it control you, or put you off your game !

Don’t be fearful ! THINGS HAPPEN FOR YOU ! NOT TO YOU !

Mars is a Warrior, Fire, Swift, Movement, Fast Paced, Passionate, Masculine, Competitive, Aggressive, Personal or Public Conflict. These things might be trigger points.  IT WILL PASS – This process is designed to make you do these things better !! It’s a short cut to progression.

Mars Retrograde in Aquarius, could mean a build up of mental energy, or being in your head to much. Doing physical things, engaging with the environment, gardening etc would be a good way of releasing this mental tension.

This years Solstice on December 22nd 2017 is the beginning of a new energetic reign. It is a changing of the tide, which peaks in 2020 with a tsunami of Capricorn energy, created by Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter in the sign of Capricorn. This is where a 248 year, 27 year and 12 year cycles will intersect creating a redistribution of power at a micro and macro level from 2020.

Saturn returning  home for 3 years is the next step in this journey, 27 years since its last transit of Capricorn, it’s joining Pluto in Capricorn. This ingress of  Saturn into its ruler Capricorn at the Solstice (When the Sun enters Capricorn) is a very rare and auspicious occasion. It last occurred in 1664.  This ingress is ALSO  occurring during the ancient Roman Festival of Saturnalia. It is the first time Saturnalia and Saturn in Capricorn have coincided since December 16 1870.  The 3 way synchronicity of these events show how energetically potent this transit of Saturn in Capricorn is going to be.

The Ancient Roman Festival of Saturnalia, celebrated annually to usher in the Solstice, was the biggest annual festival of the Roman calendar. Saturnalia, celebrating the god Saturn, was a time of excessive celebration, joy and hedonism. During this celebration, people partied to excess, slaves were given temporary freedom to say and do what they liked, and certain moral restrictions were eased. Saturnalia was a festival about celebration with the aims of bringing fortune and prosperity to crops as the seasons take a dark turn over winter. Once Christianity took hold, Saturnalia was replaced with Christmas.

Saturn, in Astrology is the god of structure, karma, authority, stealth, endurance, commitment, accountability, wisdom and time. Saturn is karmic and consequence. It creates opportunities to solidify and strengthen. Capricorn applies to government, systems, hierarchy, status, public profile, rules / regulations and external structure.  These two energies speak to each other.

Saturn is re-entering Capricorn to cleanse & purge after its last reset/transit  27 years ago. With Capricorn there is always a focus on  fairness and equality due to Capricorn’s moralist under tow, and its focus on accountability.  If this energy is out of balance this energy could turn into corruption and nepotism. This is what this transit seeks to clean up on a micro and macro level. Saturn = Karma, Capricorn = Public Profile.

To give historic examples, in past Saturn in Capricorn cycles; the Berlin Wall was Built (Jan 1959 – Jan 1962) and then torn down in Saturns  next Capricorn  transit (Feb 1988 – Feb 1991). In America’s Chart, these Capricorn cycles have seen financial down turns. A reality check to its usual confident financial spending and shows of excess and abundance. People who faught the law and the law won, were killed or captured also when Saturn got in to Capricorn. Ie: Al Capone & Pablo Escobar.  All these examples feel pertinent as we enter this transit, themes such as Walls, Finances, Justice, all resonate in the current climate.

Pluto has been pre purging Capricorn’s space, clearing the way for Saturn’s entry since 2008. Pluto had an explosive entry into Capricorn via the Global Financial Crisis. Pluto is all about transforming and changing the ways we do things, via deaths of old ways of being. The fact it has been paving the way for Saturn’s entry, makes Saturn’s upcoming transit more interesting with the potential to be more potent than previous transits. Any time Pluto and Saturn meet there is a redistribution of power. With Pluto a lot of muck has been racked around gender, politics, governments and money since 2008. Jupiter moving into Scorpio in October 2017 is amplifying this Plutonic energy. Jupiter in Scorpio also brings in the current themes of Sexual Power and Consequence to this Saturn cycle. Interestingly enough the Harvey Weinstein Affair came out just as Jupiter moved into Scorpio. Coinciedence ? I think not.

If you’re an earth or water sign, it will be an abundant flow of energy that comes naturally. It will feel safe with the feeling of being supported in what you do.   Earth IS Structure, Water NEEDS structure. If you’re a Fire or Air sign, it will flow but it might feel a bit more challenging as Air and Fire don’t like to be grounded or contained. Don’t be intimated, this is something you can handle. Remembering Saturn is making sure Pluto’s restructuring and excavation is structurally sound for you to launch off post 2020.

As Saturn enters Capricorn an earth sign, other major transits of 2018 help support this shift. There is a new distribution of energy into Water and Earth Signs. This is a shift from the past few years which have been more Fire and Air dominated.  Uranus moving into Taurus (Earth), Jupiter in Scorpio (Water) and Neptune in Pisces (Water) will finally have support via Saturn in Capricorn. Calming the waters after the past few years of volatility.

Saturn in Sagittarius over the past 3 years has been a bit of clash of agendas. Sagittarius likes to stretch its legs and get excited about life. Saturn is the realist and operates from a place  of restriction.  When Saturn moves in to Capricorn on December 21st 2017,  Saturn the realist will finally have a sign that respects its authority and need to consolidate and restrict before the next big push. Saturn in Capricorn IS this restrictive process. If there was ever a send off for Saturn from one sign to another, the current Mercury Retrograde conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius is surely it. Re-assessing the past 3 years before the mantra “constraints are liberating” become the new ethos. Mercury goes direct as the Sun & Saturn goes into Capricorn.

Saturn loves to create support systems and you couldn’t ask for a better planet to give support to such expansive and unrestrained energies such as Neptune, Jupiter or Uranus.  Earth and Water come together to make a lasting impact, consolidating the ideas and passion that has been awoken and seeded, with all the Air and Fire that has been dominating the past 2 years. Saturn will be the base note of the next 3 years, the under tone to which everything else will hang from.

Capricorn/Capricorn Rising 1st House: Earth

Capricorn has the stern facade of Saturn transiting their 1st House. Restructuring is the new cool. “Constraints are liberating” will be your mantra for the world to see. Your ruler  will be dropping all the fake facades in a very visible way as you get Harder, Faster, Better at life in ALL Aspects.  Capricorn’s love to climb and this is the hard work that will end up getting you places. If you feel like you have been doing this for a while, Saturn will support you in leaps and bounds, propelling you forward. Its going to strengthen ALL areas of your life, don’t get to sentimental about anything lost. You have some major climbing to do.

Aquarius/Aquarius Rising 12th House: Air 

Aquarian’s feel the heat of Saturn’s grind in their 12th House of their inner world and sanctum. There maybe a need to set up solid private practises, that nurture your spirit and soul. It could be a shift in WHAT you DO to nourish this area of life.  Either way there will a pressure around your inner world. Which shouldn’t actually be too bad. Saturn is the old ruler of Aquarius so it is an energy you are familiar with. Use the pressure of the searching and seeking to find the treasure that you seek – Personal liberation and freedom in your personal realm.

Pisces / Pisces Rising 11th House: Water 

Pisces and Pisces rising might feel a falling away of groups and activities they belong to as their hopes and wishes evolve. Saturn is all about re-assessing the terrain you walk on. Do the people I hang out with support this ? Am  I with my tribe ? Questions around this might pop up – working with this energy will allow you to find the people who support your quests and hopes and visions for the future. Pisces don’t really like Saturn’s directness, now that its amplified in Capricorn there may be an adjustment period. Saturn in Capricorn will be receptive to Neptune your Ruler, currently in your sign. So basically, there will be an adjustment period, before Saturn in Capricorn helps with your natural magic.

Aries /Aries Rising 10th House: Fire 

Aries will find Saturn’s amplification in the house he rules. The 10th House. The house of Status, Power, Government and Public Profile. Aries will have to comply. They don’t always like to comply, especially when its to other people’s rules. However Saturn calling you to comply and do the work will see a rise in your public kudos and profile. Potentially making you the star of this transit show, with your Capricorn buddies. Especially since Uranus will be leaving your sign after 7 years of shaking your foundations.

Taurus/Taurus Rising 9th House: Earth 

Fellow Earth Sign Taurus will see Saturn hit its 9th house of travel and philosophy. There might be some shifts in philosophy once Uranus comes to the party in May 2018. Taurus will LOVE having strong and sure support as it moves into very unfamiliar territory with Uranus beginning an 8 year transit, in Taurus. Travel and time out might be the remedy with such huge shifts in energy in the world of Taurus. Channelling the surest and steady feet of Saturn in Capricorn will guide you and be your leading light over the next few years. Gemini  / Gemini Rising 8th House: Air 

Gemini will see the need for compliance a toeing the line with other people’s money and any field of money that is not earned i.e. tax, inheritance bank loans etc. Perhaps not the best time to speculate, Gemini can use its wits and gift of communication and networking to sail through any unfamiliar terrain. Just be aware it’s not the energy you can down play or blow off, you will need to comply and commit !!   Deeper connections with people might feel heavy, stuck and grounding at first. Saturn in Capricorn isn’t an energy that really gel with you, but it will teach you to slow down and really look at the details of the situation before you play your cards. This is a very strong lesson for Gemini and their mutable ways. A positive and natural usage for Gemini to maximise this transit, would be to study some esoteric, magical or occultist study. By 2020 you will be the embodiment of The Magician from the Tarot, the card of your ruler – Mercury. That and Gemini loves to learn new tricks.

Cancer /Cancer Rising 7th House: Water 

Cancer, Capricorn is your opposite sign, it will see Saturn transiting your house of relationships with others. It will also see Saturn oppose your Sun at some stage over the next 3 years. What this means is your relationships with others is changing and perhaps challenged. It is time to look at things as perhaps more black & white, less grey. Saturn in Capricorn is pretty simple and straightforward and its doesn’t pussy foot around. Where Cancer might have compassion and emotiveness, Capricorn has fairness and accountability. This transit might see you look at a few of your key relationships. Are they helping you as best they should ?  Is it fair ? Is there an uneven balance ? If so, its either in or out. Leo /Leo Rising 6th House: Fire 

Leo’s will have a re-structuring of its daily routines, work and health routines during this Saturn in Capricorn transit. Whats in your Alchemy & Transformation tool box?  Less time for glaming, more hard work for better results. Libra / Libra Rising 4th House: Air 

Saturn in Capricorn will be the karmic connection between your family, ancestors and root connections. Saturn is time and consequence. Libra is all about balancing the needs others and themselves. Libra is just coming off a year with Jupiter in its sign, you still feel that feeling of abundance and joy. Saturn is exulted in Libra. i.e.: Very strong and happy in Libra as they share the same views on  karma and re-balancing energies in favour of fairness and ethics. Saturn is coming in to restrict anything that doesn’t serve you in the home and ancestors front. Scorpio/ Scorpio Rising 3rd House: Water 

Scorpio’s who now have Jupiter going through there sign are flying high with energy and abundant optimism.  Saturn puts the breaks on your 3rd house of communication. Basically you might feel dragged down by communication this year. A cooling off. Perhaps people aren’t vibing your optimism. Your famed perception and deep analysis might struggle to be received as warmly as you would like ? Sagittarius / Sagittarius Rising 2nd House: Fire 

Sagittarius will be deconstructing and reconstructing its self in the area of work and income. This will focus on solid, slow work and realism, the antithisis of your abundant fire energy . HOWEVER – Saturn is just leaving your sign. You have just lived 3 years with this energy dominating your sign and your style. You get this ! This transit does to a degree take the pressure off you. However, Saturn is in its sign of its rulership, Saturn is Still strong. Just image the incredible opportunities you can have  over the next 3 years, using the lessons learnt over the PAST 3 years.
